We've built the capability to open and read PHDWin v2 project files directly within the Tauris platform. The PHDWin Data Challenge
PHDWin is one of the most established reserve evaluation tools in the upstream oil and gas industry. Thousands of operators, consultants, and reserve engineers rely on it daily. But PHDWin v2 project files are proprietary binary formats that can only be opened inside the PHDWin application itself.

- Acquisitions — When evaluating a deal, the seller's reserve data often arrives as PHDWin project files. Extracting usable data for your own models requires either buying a PHDWin license, hiring someone who has one, or asking the seller to export to Excel — which rarely captures everything you need.

Our PHDWin integration reads v2 project files and extracts structured data without requiring a PHDWin license:
- Well-level reserve data — Proved, probable, and possible reserve categories with associated economic parameters.
- Production forecasts — Type curves and decline parameters for each well, extractable as time-series data.
- Economic assumptions — Pricing, operating costs, capital costs, and net revenue interest data embedded in the project.
